We are pleased to
announce Jerry Tindell as our Headliner Trainer for 2013.
Jerry ranks among the best trainer/clinicians out
there today. The 8th child of a Missouri timber man, Jerry grew up
watching his father work with both draft horses and mules to support
the family by skidding logs. That connection shaped his life, and he
has followed his love and respect for animals to build a successful
career which now focuses on training both equines and humans.
Coming to California in 1971, Jerry worked as a
farrier with his older brother Duke. This led to working with law
enforcement units, first as a farrier and later as a trainer, work
he continues today. Jerry was influenced greatly by the teachings of
Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance, and has developed his own style within
that tradition. Currently his schedule is filled with clinics both
at his ranch facility in Oak Hills, California, and at many
locations on the road. A regular at Bishop Mule Days and Back Country
Horsemen events, his clinics focus on learning to support the animal
in making the right choices. Jerry's methods open a window into a
logical, humane, and effective method of increasing the
communication between riders and their mounts.
We are excited to welcome back Lesley Neuman for the third time.
Lesley is known nationally as a wild horse gentling expert, and her
DVD, "The First Touch" has helped and inspired countless adopters.
We are excited
to have world-recognized donkey expert, Crystal Ward, join us this year, sharing with us her love of
donkeys (burros) and mules, and her experience and expertise and
training and enjoying these fascinating and loveable animals.
We are pleased that Susan Worgler will be
returning to Napa Mustang Days for the second year. Last year she
was a real crowd pleaser with her "What's Next?" demos, working with
Mustangs who had been adopted and gentled, helping the adopters
learn and perfect new skills to help them toward successful saddle
training. Susan operates her own training and riding lesson
business, Wirgler's Horse-Human Partnership, at her home in Shingle
